We were cleaning out our apartment today and I came across an old plasma orb I won a long time ago in Dave & Buster's. I thought to myself "hmm, here's a cliche photo I don't have yet." and decided to take one. I used aluminum foil as a backdrop and learned a valuable lesson about plasma orbs. Don't touch plasma orbs and aluminum foil at the same time.

Lesson: Foil + plasma globe = bad.

If I ever find it again, I'll keep that in mind. :giggle:

Even if it's cliche, it's still a mesmerizing shot, and the description makes it even better.

wow dude wheres the flowers.....LOL..on a more serious note..yes anything that runs with a "Tesla Coil" is going to put out a zapp..especially when done in contact with metal ..also this reminds me somewhat of the "mirror schlieren" photography..we used to do in the strobe lab at MIT...

Yeah, I played around with that theory a little more a few days later. I got a zap good enough to leave a black spot on my finger!

i have a "violet ray" its one of those healing wands..that puts out ultraviolet light and herar..like a plasma orb but much more powerful, the generator sits in a 7 x 6 x 7 inch chassis..and once it came in contact with metal..on a wrist bracelet i was wearing..and zzzzapppppppppppppp....my hair follicles on the back of my neck 2 feet above my wrist ..felt like they were going to fall out.....wow
